A Cure for the Curse

Hey Family!

As some of you may already know, depending on how long you’ve been supporting Up 4 Discussion, I’ve personally been battling with my mouth and the use of profanity.  It’s something that I would like to rid my life of entirely, but I know it won’t be easy.  That’s why I’ve decided to take the battle to the next level.  In fact, I’m planning to put my money where my mouth is.  Starting today I would like to introduce my latest effort, A Cure for the Curse.

The ultimate goal of A Cure for the Curse is to help other people, while simultaneously correcting my bad habit of using profanity.  The way I plan to achieve this goal is by donating 10 cents, to a selected charity, for every curse word that I use on The Official Up 4 Discussion Podcast or any other podcast that I may be a guest on.   That may seem drastic to some people, but that’s actually only the beginning.  I will also donate 5 cents per word for every curse word that a guest on The Official Up 4 Discussion Podcast uses.

Each month I will select a charity to donate to and share the total amount donated at the end of the month. As you know, we are a Family. So, if you would like to participate in this effort or suggest some charities to donate to please leave a comment below.

Thank you for your support with this effort.

Stay Blessed,

*J

As I said on FB: That's admirable. A few years ago, a buddy of mine said, "There's probably over a million words in the English Language. So, using profanity instead of a more appropriate word shows either a lack of intelligence or plain old laziness". That really made me think. As far as charities, Big Brothers Big Sisters (or some other program for at risk youth) would be a good one.
    Good luck.

  3. I as so inspired by your efforts to become better and improve characteristics about yourself not because it is popular, but RIGHT. I too struggle with this problem and would like to participate in "A Cure for the Curse". Words are POWERFUL and have the ability to create or destroy externally and internally. I do not want to used to destroy anything, but that which God hates and considers evil. I would want to contribute my donations to a benefit or charity that helps women become better parents or family shelters. Keep striving for truth.
