Have Black Entertainers SOLD OUT?

We live in a society where money is chased, women are degraded and love is rejected for hate.

We live in a society where money, fame and celebrity is worshiped, but at what cost?

What does it profit a man to use his mouth, his tongue and his words for destruction?

In this society, it garners him praise, envy and money, lots of money.

What does it profit a woman to use her sexuality, accept disrespect and lead young girls in the wrong direction?

In this society, it garners her attention, diva status and money, lots of money.

How long will black men and black women fall into this trap?

How long will they sale themselves, for a profit that costs them more than what it’s worth?

Hell yeah we have sold out! We will stoop to any level for a dollar, or 15 mins of fame. Men degrade the women like they are only sex objects, and the women are proud to be sex objects. For example, most of the ladies that say that they want to model look like strippers when you check there portfolio. When it comes to our movies, we might as well be tap dancing with our eyes bucked looking like a dam slave. You got where I am going with it! http://www.blackconvo.com

I totally get where you're going with it. No doubt about that. What you said is true too. It's sad how lost our people seem to be.The question I have is how can we right this wrong?

I think that we can right this wrong by creating more positive images ourselves. We can start with our blogs by praising upstanding men and women. I would say change what we like, that way it would not be a demand for foolishness, but we cant change people. So we can start where we are, and maybe start writing record labels, and movie studios. We have to start with ourselves though. Us having this discussion actually helps. We have to move it to twitter, Facebook, and other blogs, podcasts, books, and make some noise!
