I think if you go slow enough in a relationship then everything you need to know will become apparent over time. But if you are prone to rush in relationships then a background check might be a good idea.

Background check… really? Yeah that's going way to far…. smdh. My best friend did that to a guy I was dating and that pissed me off…she didn't even know if it was him, becuz that made her judge him…smdh

    Yeah that's a bit extreme.

That's just crazy. If you're that insecure then they should re-evaluate themselves. I can't see how you could spend time and probably money doing that. Everything is going to come out anyway so why rush it….it's terrible.

  6. Having a background check on your partner is TRULY GOING TOO, TOO FAR! If you know so little about a person and have so little intuitive instinct about the character of someone you consider a partner, then you really need to do some serious self-examination before continuing this relationship or starting any future personal relationships.

Now if you have known the person and there have been some character altering situations during the time you both have been together to cause you to question them, you should first ask them about these specific matters. However, if they do not answer your questions or you think they are being less than truthful, then explain your concerns to them frankly holding nothing back. You still have doubts? Move on. Do not violate a persons rights in a way that you would not want yours violated. Keep striving for truth.
