The following morning, Jae made it her business to again give Regina the business before she headed off to work. She had to show Regina why after all Jae had put her through, she had to stick around and what she would be missing if she left. As she walked Regina to her car to see her off to work, she gave her a tight and warm embrace before kissing her forehead. “I love you baby and I would do anything to make this work. Just tell me what you need, and it’s yours…”

“How about the keys to the Jag?” Regina tried her luck while batting her eyelashes.

Irritated by her own offer to give Regina anything she requested, Jae hesitantly dug into her pocket and retrieved the keys to her car. With a heavy sigh, small attitude and much regret, she turned them over. Wasting no time, Regina skipped off to the car and was on her way to work.

Unfortunately for Regina, the rest of her morning didn’t run quite as smooth. She ignored four calls from Morgan and failed to reply to several “Please talk to me” texts. Regina felt horrible about pushing Morgan to the side without any real notice, but she knew if her relationship were to have any chance, it had to be done. She worked through her day in a daze and with a heavy heart… already, she missed her. She couldn’t help but to ask herself how things would be when the three found themselves in the same location. She made up her mind in that moment, she would do her best to avoid it at all costs… at least until Morgan was ready to let go.

Right on time that evening, Jae and Morgan met at the courts for a game of one-on-one basketball. It was one of their favorite ways to stay in shape, but as of late they hadn’t been able to get in any game time. After about an hour and a half of game play, the two decided to settle down and take a break.

“So, what’s up bro? Ain’t seen you in a minute. Some chick must have you locked up tight!” Jae teased. “Surprised you were allowed out the house to play tonight.”

“Nah man, just been busy with work and stuff. You know how that goes…” she trailed off as she hung her head.

“What’s up… you look like you lost your best friend and I am right here. What happened?”

“Yeah, there is someone. We just going through a little something right now. You know?”

“Well you know these females come a dime a dozen. Don’t even worry about it; she can be replaced.”

“She’s different. She’s not like these other chicks we be chasing. She got a girl and all…”

“That ain’t never stopped us” Jae jumped in.

“I know… I mean, she got a girl and I just want her to know here is where she should be.” Morgan looked her best friend directly in the eyes. “She deserves better.”

Oblivious to the subliminally direct statement, Jae gave her best friend a pat on the back and told her that everything would work out. The advice she offered was that Morgan come on stronger and lay her mack down. She told her don’t take no for an answer and show the woman exactly what she would be missing out on.

Feeling she had said more than enough, Morgan took her friend’s word to heart and started to think up a plan…
