Regina and Morgan spent many nights forward once again enjoying the company of one another. Regina hated to admit it, but she felt incredibly at ease with her. Morgan provided her with a sense of comfort she had long missed in her dealings with Jae. She felt adored, respected and desired in the most intimate of ways, without having sex. She couldn’t argue against the fact that Morgan had been doing an excellent job of showing her she would be happiest with her. Against her better thoughts, Regina allowed herself to fall for Morgan.

Weeks had gone by, and Regina was doing an excellent job at living a double life. She surprised herself at how naturally it came to her and although she was glad to be getting away with it, she knew her success was wrong. Nonetheless, she filled all of her available free time with Morgan, which mostly the late night hours while Jae was at the club. She liked it this way… she got her best sleep wrapped in Morgan’s arms. As the were settling in one night, Regina’s phone started to chime a familiar ringtone. Knowing better than to ignore the call, she quickly answered. “Hey baby. On your way to the club?” she asked.

“Are you home?” Jae asked with marked urgency. “I’m going to let the managers hold down the club tonight. I rather spend the night it you.”

Surprised, Regina searched for her words “Yeah……… I’m here.” She began waving her hand at Morgan and pointing towards the door. “Um, how far away are you baby? I want to freshen up before you get here.”

“I’m at the light, so I should be there in a minute or two.”

Now in full panic, Regina quickly wrapped up the call and started pushing Morgan in the direction of the door. “I’m sorry, but you know I’ll call you as soon as she leaves.”

Morgan was frustrated, but she complied and reluctantly walked out of the door. “Stay beautiful. I’ll talk to you later.”

Jae was so focused on getting to Regina’s that she didn’t notice Morgan’s car leaving the development just as she was pulling in. After parking, she moved quickly towards the door, only to be reminded that Regina had never returned the keys granting access to her condo and she rolled her eyes at the thought. She knocked on the door and waited what seemed like an eternity for Regina to come around.

Once they were both settled in the living room with glasses of wine, Jae started. “Baby, I missed you so much today that I went to pick something up for you. Close your eyes.” It had been a long time since Jae had taken the time out to surprise Regina with anything, even flowers. Despite her guilty conscious, Regina couldn’t help but glow in anticipation as she closed her eyes and held out her hands.

Delicately, Jae placed a small teal Tiffany’s box in Regina’s hand. “I hope it’s the right one. I tried really hard to remember the design” explained Jae. Excitedly, Regina wasted no time pulling open the box. Her mouth drop as her eyes went over the platinum, diamond tennis bracelet. “Check out the inside” directed Jae still trying to gauge Regina’s excitement.

As told, Regina inspected the inside of the bracelet to find, “Truly. Eternally. Yours.” engraved repeatedly. With mixed emotions of both happiness and guilt, Regina dropped a few tears and was at a loss for words. Satisfied with the reaction, Jae removed the bracelet from its box and wrapped it gently around her wrist. “I want you to understand what I mean when I say I’ve changed. I love you and there’s no one else in the world for me. I know I have said that in the past, but those months without you were hell for me. You’re the one for me… I’m yours.”

Regina listened as closely to Jae’s words as she could, but competing with them were Morgan’s warning, “Jae doesn’t care about you. She can’t change. She wont change and you’re a fool if you think she will!” Regina tried her best to hush the voice playing in the background and enjoy her night with Jae, but her heart felt it was betraying Morgan. She put on her best smiles for the night and made sure to enjoy her time with Jae… she had to enjoy her night with Jae.
