Regina’s sense of smell was wide awake before the rest of her. She wasn’t sure what was being made, but she knew someone was throwing down in the kitchen. She quickly jumped up and ran into the bathroom to freshen up before she would go investigate. By the time she had showered, brushed her teeth and given herself a quick facial, she reentered her room to find a beautiful display of breakfast in bed. Jae sat there with a smirk across her face, obviously amused by her own efforts. Regina couldn’t help, but to blush. Her heart became warm as she recalled the many mornings Jae would show up to her dorm room with a pre-made and perfectly packed breakfast with green tea.
“I wasn’t sure I remembered your favorites, so I made a little of everything” Jae explained. “Come on” Jae patted the bed, “before it gets cold.”
Regina slowly complied, “This was really very sweet of you…” again, she blushed as she started into the meal.
“I have to go and meet with some contractors about the new club in northeast, so I am heading out. Don’t clean up. I’ll take care of it when I get back.” Jae eased herself off the bed and placed a gentle kiss on Regina’s forehead. “I love you baby. Catch you later.”
Regina replied with an energetic “I love you too” as she watched Jae exit the bedroom and heard her head out the front door. She picked at her food for ten minutes before giving into her urge to call Morgan and apologize profusely.

“You don’t have to apologize for being with your girlfriend Regina.”
“I know… but we had plans and I feel awful for having to bail on them.”
“I signed up for this. I just want you to be happy… even if it means waiting and playing my position.”
“Why are you doing this? Just let go Morgan. Jae is trying really hard… you’re wrong about her.”
“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”
Frustrated, Regina decided to end the conversation there. “Okay, whatever you say. I’ll see you later, okay?”
Also frustrated, Morgan offered a simple “cool” before disconnecting the call.
Regina toyed with the delicate bracelet around her wrist and quietly wished on it that Jae had in fact changed, but what was she to do about her mutual feelings for Morgan? She had a choice to make sooner, rather than later. As she began getting lost in her thoughts, she felt the alert buzzing on her phone.
“We are heading to Morgan’s for the group game night tomorrow. PLEASE don’t decline again. We haven’t all spent time together in months! Love you.”
