Look in the Mirror

“You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy.”

Ladies, I want you to look in the mirror and say out loud “I Love You”. Don’t just say it to say it, mean it! For some of us this may be a hard task, but I dare you to try it. It may be hard, but I’m telling you ladies if you start doing this every morning you will feel that much better about yourself.

So many of us are willing to love others, more than we love ourselves, but we fail to realize that we need to love ourselves first. In relationships this tends to happen. We focus more on our significant other than we do ourselves. We have to learn and understand that we need to come first in our relationships. In order to make him happy, we need to be happy first.

Also, many of us ladies tend to settle because we don’t think we deserve better. We need to understand that we deserve the best! We should never settle; it’s okay to have a list of what we want in our mate. I’m not saying have this ridiculous list of expectations that no man can meet, but have the important deal breakers and must haves.

Love yourself enough to know what is healthy and what isn’t healthy for you in your ideal relationship. I know too many of us get stuck in these abusive relationships because we don’t love ourselves enough to leave the person who is causing us this pain and hurt. We don’t realize that we deserve better, and no matter what our friends say we don’t get it. Why do we have to wait until we are broken to start loving ourselves?

So this is something I want all of us ladies to do each morning, while we are “putting our faces on” or doing our hair. Look in the mirror and say something nice about yourself and mean it. It could be anything from “I Love You” to “You’re Beautiful” and tell me that doesn’t lift up your spirits.

  1. If you could add a commandment to the Ten Commandments, what would it be?
I think the Lord pretty much covered all bases.  I guess if I were able to etch something in stone, I’d say, “Thou shalt not do it in the butt.”

  2. If you were engaged to a very wealthy man would you sign a prenup if he asked you to? Why or why not?
More than likely.  I feel that what he obtained before me is his and vice-versa.  I had no contribution to his wealth, therefore I should not be entitled to it.  What we accomplish together is a different story.

  3. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever found attractive about someone?
Depends on what constitutes weird.  Maybe his obsession with brushing his teeth for two minutes exactly.  I’m serious when it comes to mouth hygiene, but I do not brush for two minutes.  I was intrigued by this and would actually stand in the bathroom and watch him go to town brushing.  That is a weird attraction now that I’ve admitted it.

  4. List 5 things that you can’t deal with or accept sexually?
    1. Selfishness
    2. Stretching my butt cheeks apart like my skin is made of rubber.
    3. Extreme aggressiveness.
    4. Toys. We’re fine working with what God gave us.
    5. Since I am celibate, I can’t deal with a man who can’t respect or appreciate it.

  5. How important do you think titles are in a relationship?
I don’t feel they’re necessary.  The only titles that matter are husband and wife, in my opinion.

  6. In each of the following situations (dating, working, sexually) would you prefer to have a man who takes charge or gives suggestions? Explain.
I prefer a man who takes charge, even in giving suggestions.  I can be indecisive at times, so if he knows what’s best and can tell me “no,” or “go ‘head and get it,” then I’m all for it.

  7. If your life was ending in the next five minutes, what would be ONE final positive impact you would want to leave on the world?
I would make a video telling the world that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are real.  Tell everyone to search deep within their heart, find the one person they have not been able to forgive for whatever reason and forgive them, and to forgive themselves for holding onto the pain for all those years.  I would end it in saying, “Spend the rest of your days doing what you love.  Life is too short to be unhappy and unfulfilled doing anything other than what fills your heart with joy.”
