Nice guys don't finish last.
Nice guys don't finish in any other position than they believe they'll finish in.
I used to say this about myself quite often. I think a lot of it has to do with the belief that life happens to us, rather than us happening to life. Once I had a change of heart and mind, I realized how dumb it was to believe that. I've not arrived, and I still struggle, but I honestly think that you create your own paradigm for yourself. And that is where you will reside until it changes.
