We would like to start WOMEN EMPOWERMENT MONTH off by discussing what it means to be a Godly Woman!!! But first, lets make a Pinky Promise, as sisters in Christ, to respect, correct and to be honest with OURSELVES. During the month of February, we will discuss various characteristics of a Godly woman. I’m sure you all have heard many women use the phrase, “I’m a Godly Woman”. There is no one way to define this woman because such a woman has many Godly characteristics. A Godly woman must be a woman of Purpose, Assurance, Boldness, Strength, and Vision. Although there are other characteristics, these are a few we will discuss during this month. Today we look at Purpose. As a Godly Woman, it is our purpose to be a reflection of God’s love. Matthew 22:37 (ESV) says, “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and to draw others to a personal relationship with Christ. Although its been shown that we as women can do many things, one of the most important things to do is to “Provoke One Another To Love”. In order to fulfill the purpose God has put in us, we must be able to let go of the past, forgive more and create the “outline” of what a Godly woman looks like, until we can fully fill that position. That’s start by first working on our heart. Pastor Bryant Lee once said, “BEFORE you can become a servant, you must learn how to serve first”. Lets strive to be the example of a purpose filled woman and not allow the words from our mouth to exceed the lifestyle. The right things that are uncomfortable now, if practiced, will become easier for us to walk in our purpose.

The bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” So God is not telling you to do this alone. A Godly woman seeks the Lord through spending time with God in prayer, fasting, and studying His word. Spending this time with Him will allow you to know, understand and walk in the purpose that He has for your life. Godly women are strong, Godly women are bold, but most importantly, Godly women are Holy!
